Chester Folk Festival

This annual festival lasts four days, and it takes place in May, near the city of Chester, at a distance of approximately 8 miles away, in Kelsall village.

The programme that contains a lot of fun possibilities, gathers plenty of national and local folk artists, because this is the purpose of the festival, to celebrate Chester's folk wealth and beauty.

Up the Wall

A walk around the city's walls, with music and video projections and other interactive activities will be possible each year in October, starting from 7.00 PM, until 10.00 PM.

Chester Summer Music Festival

The festival takes place each year in July, and the concerts are performed during two weeks, bringing both famous artists and new talents from the world of pop, jazz and classical music.

Chester Food and Drink Festival

The festival takes place annually in April, at the racecourse. The cost of a ticket is around £5 and you can visit the exhibitions daily, during the festival, between 10.00 AM and 5.00 PM.

You can watch the chefs working on their best meals and also the cocktail competitions. Also, you have the chance to buy some of the greatest products, from homemade chocolate to cheese. Anyway, the festival is all about local and regional food.

May Festival at Chester Racecourse

A horse race that lasts three days and takes place every year in May, the Festival at Chester Racecourse can be a special occasion for you to take your family or friends out, in order to have a blast at this special event.

Deva Triathlon

Deva, the historic name of Chester, and the triathlon that is associated with its name, became a famous sports event that involves swimming, cycling and running. The race takes place every year in June, in the city centre and around it, and starts at 7.00 AM.

Family Fun Day

Located at the Chester Racecourse, the event takes place every year in August and the cost of a ticket is between £9 - £34. It is the ultimate experience if you are taking your family to Chester, because of the face paintings, bouncing castles, music and many other fun activities for you and your children.

Shell Chester Literature Festival

Lasting two weeks, every year in October, the festival gathers a few thousands visitors and book fans. Besides the books that you can buy, at the festival you can also meet actors playing and theatre directors.
